Agrippina-Special

Step by step through our Roman period

Roman traces are to be found everywhere in Cologne. And there are lots of them. Agrippa founded a Roman colony here in the year 30 BC. His granddaughter Agrippina finally in 50 AC established a formal Roman city out of this colony. How did she do it as a woman in a time of masculine power and what meaning “her“ Colonia Claudia Ara Agrippinensium (short: CCAA) formerly had, this will be told in our „Agrippina-Special“-Tour. The great efforts of the Romans will be seen within numerous relicts, such as the Pretorium, the Roman city wall and the canals. Come with me to visit the old times and enjoy this historical tour!
